Alejandro Manrique, a 35-year old Colombian journalist, joined Meximerica Media as Managing Editor of Rumbo de San Antonio.
Manrique brings 11 years of experience as a reporter and editor. He started his career in 1993, when he revitalized the Investigative Team Unit of the Bogotá-based daily El Tiempo, the biggest newspaper in Colombia.
After several years of working for the newspaper, Manrique traveled to New York to pursue a Master’s in Journalism at Columbia University, which he completed in 2000. As he returned to Colombia, he joined Semana magazine as the National Affairs editor.
Later, he coordinated the Journalism Professional Field of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana; there, he directed a magazine and started several academic research.
Manrique obtained a degree in Law from Universidad de Los Andes, he has been nominated to several journalism awards and is a fellow of the Maria Moors Cabot Foundation. |
