Jonathan Thompson has held a variety of positions in media over the past thirty years; his major assignments were at the Tribune Co., Knight-Ridder, and CBS (magazines). He served for seven years as CEO/President of Sawyer Ferguson Walker (media rep) before starting a media consulting venture-JThompson,LLC. While working at various senior management positions, among the startups he co-initiated (some also solo) and managed were: El Miami Herald en Español , WOR radio news hour, Newstar (training and information “network” using satellite technology), SFW-PRI (international advertising sales organization-repositioning), The Latest News- relaunch- (daily newspaper in magazine format), and Fine Living Magazine.
For the past several years, JThompson LLC has been actively engaged in general media consulting services specializing in strategic positioning, branding, financial sourcing, business development, and launch management.
He received his BA from Brown University and an MBA from Wharton.
